How this calculator works

This tool is designed for freelancers and service businesses managing invoices, payment terms and transaction fees. Cash received can differ from the invoice amount because of timing, discounts and payment-processing fees. Estimated fee = charge × 2.9% + $0.30 for the standard US domestic online card rate currently published by Stripe.

Use the right inputs

Use figures from the same time period and the same cost definition. Required inputs on this calculator are Charge amount. If an amount already includes overhead or employer burden, do not add the same cost again elsewhere.

How to interpret the result

The result is decision support, not a universal target. Treat fee and due-date calculations as commercial planning; verify the current provider pricing and agreement terms before invoicing. A change in one assumption can materially change the answer, especially when margin or billable utilization is involved.

Common mistake

Provider fees and contractual late-payment rules can change, so permanent hard-coded assumptions are risky.
